Advice for including your dog on your wedding day
I absolutely love dogs and what could be better than including them in your special day? Dogs at weddings are the best! We all know that your dog is an important part in your life, and more of a family member than a pet – So what happens if you decide for them to be an important part of your wedding day too?
Will your dog be happy to be there on the day?
Do they have a calm temperament or get stressed out around a lot of people? Sometimes even though it is heartbreaking to think of not having your dog involved in your wedding, it’s worth thinking about this before committing to bringing them along. If this is not a problem – Keep reading on!
Is your venue dog friendly?
Good News! We work with lots of venues that are more than happy for your dog to be part of your special day! There can sometimes be a surcharge for them to stay in the room overnight – but it is a small price to pay to see their happy faces on your day.
Also ensure to notify your registrar if you are wanting to include your dog in your ceremony (Cutest ring-bearer ever!) Here are just a few of the venues we work with who allow dogs to be part of your special day.

Be mindful that not all your guests may like furry friends
It’s important to bear in mind that not all of your guests may be dog lovers – perhaps they get nervous around dogs – or they just aren’t their cup of tea. Whatever it is, you need to be mindful of their needs. To help these guests, it may be useful to introduce the dog to everyone before the ceremony and keep your dog in a carrier or on a lead. Bring them out for the photos and celebrations but ensure they are properly looked after and someone has an eye on them at all times.
Who will car for them on the day?
Choosing the correct care for your dog is vital to ensure smooth running of your wedding day. I would recommend taking a look at “Dogs and Weddings”. Dogs & Weddings offer a unique Wedding Chaperone service for your doggy, making sure that they are beautifully cared for, so you can focus on having a fantastic time with all of your friends and family without any worries. They even offer a dog grooming service, they can dress and/or accessorise your pet with your choice of bow tie, flower accessory or your bespoke chosen outfit – Making for the cutest and most memorable photos!

How else to include them in the big day?
To really bring a touch of uniqueness to your day, why not consider themed wedding favours, centrepieces or table names. You can even put your beloved doggo on your invitations, to make them feel even more included in your big day!
Choosing the right photographer
I feel like this one is important. Choosing a photographer that is used to capturing these moments with pets will make for much better photos and memories! Having the correct photographer will likely make you and your pet feel much more comfortable and those photos are bound to make you tear up when you see them. Field Photography, Is one of our recommended suppliers who I think has captured this perfectly.
