Deck the halls with boughs of holly

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Well that’s what the song says and so do a lot of Brides! With Christmas just around the corner, I thought I would share some lovely festive wedding ideas with you all, to get you in the mood for the seasonal celebrations.

One of our lucky Round One Winners at The Upper House, Ruth and Michael, are get married this December! They were both so excited about the Christmas wedding theme which may be partly why they planned such a fabulous wedding in just 7 months – they knew what they wanted, a Christmas wedding filled lots of fun baubles and love.

Christmas Weddings

What a wonderful time of the year to say I do to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with…. and Christmas is a great time to get the family altogether it could not be easier.

After checking your guest list twice making sure who has been naughty and nice, you want to make sure that you have cater for everyone’s needs. Your wedding breakfast could be a traditional roast dinner and don’t forget that a lot of your family and friends are off at Christmas and so are the children, so take advantage of your guests being off work and school to make the most of your celebrations.

The venues look fabulous all dressed for Christmas with the tree usually taking centre stage in the hallway, the fire place is dressed and there is a feel of excitement running through the corridors.

How festive does The Upper House look at Christmas…

You have so many wonderful options at Christmas you could go a winter wonderland or traditional Christmas wedding theme. Taking the red and golds or white and silver it all is something so different to the rest of the year.

Once you have decided on your theme the next important question on any Brides mind is what about my Dress, again so many wonderful options. The bride will stand out in an all-white traditional wedding dress, but she can add a Christmas sparkle with her accessories – red or gold wedding shoes, for example. Similarly, the groom could have a touch of red or gold in his tie or bowtie, buttonhole or even his socks, for a fun twist.

The bridesmaids could wear white to fit a winter wonderland wedding theme, but red, green, or blue dresses are perfect for a Christmas wedding as well.

For the flowers you could add a touch of mistletoe to the wedding bouquets, as well as some pinecones for a wintery look. Choose lovely winter flowers in deep red, combined with forest-green foliage. Tie it together with a long red ribbon or of course baubles 😊.

Your Christmas wedding table centre pieces could be, wine glasses filled with baubles, candles with a glow or favours can be wrapped like little Christmas presents for everyone or treat your guests to packages of chocolate, shortbread or gingerbread

This festive venue dressing has been created by one of our super talented WVSA Suppliers, Gingermoon.
