What to look for in a wedding photographer.

So you are on the hunt for the perfect wedding photographer to capture your special day, here’s a few things to consider before taking the plunge and making that booking!

Style.

Have you found your style? Do you prefer traditional posed wedding photographs, or are you interested in more of a documentary style, candid approach? When looking through your photographers portfolio, make sure they have a full day wedding album they can show you, so you know their style is consistent and you are getting exactly what you’re looking for!

Does your photographer make you feel excited about your big day? Most photographers will organise a meeting with you to run through your ideas and the time line of your wedding day. This is a great way to get to know each other and make sure you’re a perfect fit.

Budget.

Have you set a budget? If you’re looking for services such as extra coverage time, or even a second shooter, this can bump the price up significantly. Make sure you have a budget in mind and definitely shop around! You can get some great savings through our WVSA suppliers: WVSA Accredited Wedding Suppliers | The WVSA

Help and Advice.

Does your photographer have back up equipment? As a photographer myself, I always make sure I have back up gear just in case anything was to happen on the big day. Accidents happen, but does your photographer have a plan in place to keep the day running smoothly?
